Statista e, prima ancora, Uomo delle Istituzioni: una figura la cui eccezionale statura morale, culturale e politica continua a parlare alla coscienza democratica del Paese.<br>Il 9maggio \u00e8 anche memoria del tragico destino di <strong>Peppino Impastato<\/strong>, vilmente ucciso per il coraggio con cui seppe sfidare il potere mafioso e difendere la legalit\u00e0 e la libert\u00e0, con la forza della parola.<br>Il nostro pensiero va inoltre ai tanti, troppi servitori dello Stato e cittadini comuni il cui nome \u00e8 poco conosciuto, ma il cui sacrificio appartiene pienamente alla storia della Repubblica.<br>La memoria di chi ha pagato con la vita la fedelt\u00e0 alle Istituzioni, alla verit\u00e0 e al bene comune non appartiene solo al passato: \u00e8 responsabilit\u00e0 viva, fondamento della nostra democrazia e dell&#8217;impegno quotidiano a difesa dei nostri valori&#8221;.
